Terms of Service
1. Acceptance
By accessing or using Raydar ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 18 years old to use Raydar. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement.
These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Raydar Ltd ("Raydar", "we", "our").
2. What the Service Is
Raydar is a personal finance tool that reads transaction notification emails from senders you configure, extracts spending data, and presents it in a categorised dashboard.
Raydar is not a financial institution, bank, investment adviser, or regulated financial service. Nothing in the Service constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. You should not rely on Raydar data to make financial decisions without independent verification.
3. Gmail Access
To use the Service, you authorise Raydar to access your Gmail inbox using Google's OAuth 2.0 protocol with the gmail.readonly scope. By granting this access:
- You confirm that the Gmail account belongs to you or that you have authority to connect it.
- You understand that Raydar queries only emails from senders you explicitly configure.
- You can revoke this access at any time from within Raydar or via your Google Account settings at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Use of Gmail data is subject to Google's API Services User Data Policy. Data obtained via Gmail is used solely to provide the Raydar service and is not used for advertising or sold to third parties.
4. Service Limitations
Raydar captures spending from email and digital receipts only. This typically covers online purchases, bank transaction alerts (where enabled), and subscription confirmations. Cash transactions, in-store purchases without digital receipts, and any transaction where you have not enabled email alerts will not appear in Raydar.
Raydar does not guarantee completeness or accuracy of your spending picture. It is a convenience tool, not a complete financial record.
5. AI Accuracy
Raydar uses automated parsing and AI-assisted categorisation to classify transactions. Categories may occasionally be incorrect. You can review and correct any transaction directly in the app.
Raydar is not liable for financial decisions made based on incorrectly categorised transactions. You are responsible for reviewing your dashboard and correcting errors.
6. Your Responsibilities
When using Raydar, you agree not to:
- Provide false or misleading registration information.
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
- Attempt to access another user's account or data.
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or extract data from the Service by automated means.
- Circumvent any security or access control measures.
- Interfere with the operation of the Service or its infrastructure.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
7. Intellectual Property
Raydar Ltd owns all rights to the Service, including its software, design, and branding. Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights to use Raydar's intellectual property other than to use the Service as intended.
Your data remains yours. Raydar does not claim ownership of your transaction data, email content, or any personal information you provide.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. During the current beta period, we make no guarantees of uptime, data accuracy, or uninterrupted availability.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Raydar disclaims all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Raydar's total liability to you for any claim arising from or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or the equivalent of one month's subscription fee, whichever is greater. For users on a free tier, this limit is zero.
Raydar is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, or financial loss arising from your use of the Service.
10. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from within the app. Deletion permanently removes your data subject to the retention periods set out in our Privacy Policy.
Raydar reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these Terms, with or without notice depending on the severity of the breach.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Rwanda. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Rwanda.
Nothing in these Terms limits any statutory rights you may have under GDPR (if you are in the EU or UK) or the CCPA (if you are a California resident). Those rights apply regardless of this governing law clause.
12. Changes to These Terms
We will notify you of material changes to these Terms at least 30 days before they take effect, via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
